After 12 years in the making, the Paul Chiang Art Center is set to open on March 15 in Jinzun, Taitung County. Dedicated to the renowned Taiwanese abstract artist, the center will showcase exhibitions, host artist residencies, and provide art education to nurture local talent.
The inaugural exhibition, Light, Beauty, and Purification, curated by Nanjo Fumio, reflects Chiang’s belief that “art purifies the heart”, tracing his emotional journey through different life stages. Designed by architect Yu-Han Michael Lin, the center’s structures take inspiration from Chiang’s Farm House steel sculpture.
With future expansions planned, the Paul Chiang Art Center is set to become a key cultural landmark in Taiwan.
