The 16th edition of the India Art Fair (IAF) in New Delhi showcased the growing maturity and dynamism of India’s art market, drawing major international galleries like David Zwirner and Lisson Gallery back to its fold. With strong sales across modern and contemporary art, the fair highlighted shifting collector preferences, as younger buyers increasingly favored emerging artists over modern masters like M.F. Husain, whose works remained a staple. The event also saw significant purchases by top collectors like Kiran Nadar, supporting both Indian and international galleries. Amid rising competition from fairs like Art Mumbai, IAF reaffirmed its dominance with expanded design sections and plans to grow collector bases beyond New Delhi, including a potential program in Hyderabad.
